This is the Janne Da Arc thread!!! YEAH!!! These guys are incredible!
First, some background info for people who don’t know them:

Janne Da Arc is: Yasu (vocals), You (guitar), Ka-yu (bass), Kiyo (keyboard), Shuji (drums)

Janne Da Arc’s story started when they formed in 1989. They played small venues for years after this, but no fame came from it. They record their first demo tape in 1992, their second in 1993 and their third in 1994. During this era the band played live houses and concert after concert, still with no avail. Shuji, who was a session member until this time, became an official member in 1996. In 1998 they play their first “one-man concert” and release their first mini-album “Dearly.” In December of 1998 a second mini-album is released called “Resist” and a third, “Chaos Mode” is released in 1999. For 10 years they’ve worked hard and got nothing for it, but it all changes in 1999 when they change thier style to more Visual Kei, sign with Cutting Edge Records (part of Avex) and release the single “Red Zone.” The rest is history. Since then, they’ve released 6 full-length albums, 2 single collections and 24 singles!!! The 25th single, “Destination”, was released Feb-8-2006. Their fashion style has strayed away from VK but their music is still some of the greatest I’ve ever heard!!

My favorite songs are: eden~kimi ga inai, lunatic gate, vampire, kasumiyuku sorasenishite, Gekkouka, heaven's gate.....many more!

What do you guys think of them?

Yay, Janne Da Arc! These guys have recently become one of my favorite bands n__n Their music is so much fun and Yasu is the biggest dork ever XD

But I really didn't know they've been around for so long... wow o_o

I like Janne Da Arc... maybe not as much as some other bands... but they're pretty cool... they have a very interesting style... but i really don't know a whole lot about them....

I used to like them a lot but they're beginning to sound stale. Their last album didn't impress me. Good thing their new single, Furimukeba, was good. Didn't really like Destination though.

I can't say I've really heard their most recent stuff. But with JDA, there is stuff that I just LOVE and then there's others that are just "meh." But I guess I'll have to check it out so I can see which category it goes in XD

Janne da Arc is one of my favorites Japanese bands, I love they sound and You and Ka-yu are very nice Guitar/Bass players, I checked the 10th Anniversary Indies Collection Box, it's nice itself, comes with a remixed CHAOS MODE cd =D and 2 special songs, liked it =).

Have anyone here heard their new single HEAVEN/Mobius?? n_n

I just heard one song by them, Destination. I am goping to give them a try. I am trying out D'espairs Ray and Janne Da Arc atm. I am more in DR right now. I will be getting more songs by this band. Destination...from what I hear, they REALLY remind me of Pornograffiti though. Idk if it is just me, but I will see in other songs in the near future .

Wow but it's pretty expensive no? Well i heard that the guys are going to go on a little hiatus and are going to do solo projects. hm.. i read it on this LJ.... Well it makes sense since they are already that accomplished, so it was only a matter of time til they did something solo. I look forward to their new works =D
